NANCY PATRICIA SMITH HORNE

We regret to announce the passing of Nancy Patricia Smith Horne, age 52, of Iron City, GA who passed away Friday, March 11, 2005, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Horne will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Donalsonville with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery in Cairo, Ga at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 14, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Horne was born on March 30, 1952 in Bainbridge, GA to James Wesley and Verna Jones Smith. She graduated from Seminole County High School in 1970 and married Kenneth Horne in 1971. She was a devoted Pre-K teacher at Children's Manor Kindergarten in Donalsonville and then at the Mother Goose Nursery in Bainbridge, GA, working along beside Karen Sheffield for 24 years. While in High School, Mrs. Horne was a member of the Beta Club. She taught Sunday School at Iron City Baptist Church for a number of years and just last summer went on the Romanian mission trip with the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville. Mrs. Horne was planning to go on this trip again this summer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Donalsonville. Mrs. Horne leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kenneth Horne of Iron City; her parents, James Wesley and Verna Jones Smith of Cairo, GA; her father-in-law, Hardy Horne of Iron City, GA; a son, Garrison Horne of Iron City, GA; two daughters, Kristie Easom and her husband Scott of Donalsonville, GA and Tammie Bond and her husband John of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Gina Sue Harkins and her husband Paul of Tallahassee, FL and Sharon Brandon and her husband Kenneth of Thomasville, GA; one grandson, Wesley Easom, and a special friend, Karen Sheffield of Donalsonville, GA. Pallbearers will be Tony Riley, Dean King, Robbie Smith, Chris Thomas, Joe Burke, and Brantley Broome.
