WILLIAM "BILL" FOWLER

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. William Frederick “Bill” Fowler, age 85, of Donalsonville, GA who passed away December 21, 2012 at the Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Fowler will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA. Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, GA. You may sign the online guest register at www.evansskipperfh.com. Mr. Fowler was born in Thomson, GA on December 17, 1927 to the late Robert M and Angie Hall Fowler. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Air Corps and graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS degree in Business Administration. He was a retired salesman. Mr. Fowler was reared in a Christian home and was baptized into the Southern Baptist Faith in 1940. He had been a devout member of that faith ever since. His goal in life was to glorify his Lord by his actions and his words. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church Donalsonville and served as a Sunday School teacher for approximately 60 years. He also served as a Deacon in his church. He was a member of the Lions Club, the American Legion, and Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ina Trawick Fowler of Donalsonville, GA; his daughters, Donna Terry and her husband Mike of Harris County, GA; Joan Smith and her husband Timothy of Dothan, AL; Jan Bus of Panama City Beach, FL; sister, Louise Chambers and her husband Bobby of Sandersville, GA. He is also survived by grandchildren, Michael Terry, David Terry and his wife Katie, Josh LaTourette, Bobby Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Jessica Bus and Jacqueline Bus as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert M and Angie Hall Fowler. Casketbearers will be Mike Rogerson, Chris Thomas, Ron Jones, Rome Ethredge, Lewis Godby, Steve Bailey, Rev. Mitch Royals, and Joe Burke. Honorary casketbearers will be the remainder of the Deacons of First Baptist Church as well as members of the Donalsonville Lions Club.
