JAMES POLK TURNER

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. James Polk Turner, age 80, of Newton, AL and formerly of Iron City, GA. Mr. Turner passed away Sunday evening, September 15, 2013 at Dale Medical Center in Ozark, AL. Graveside services for Mr. Turner will be held Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA with Rev. Slade Alday officiating. The US Army will have full military honors. Mr. Turner was born in Iron City, GA on October 24, 1932 to George W. Turner and Mary Lee Turner. He retired from the United States Army. He is survived by one daughter, Deborah Nipper and her husband Robbie of Sylvester, GA ; two grandchildren Chris Lanthrop and Cody Lanthrop and caregiver, Deborah Elliot. Preceded in death by his parents, George W. Turner and Mary Lee Turner; his wife Mariann Turner. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
