J.D. "JAKE" PHILLIPS

We regret to announce the passing of Mr. J.D. “Jake” Phillips, age 75, of Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Phillips passed away Friday morning, Sept. 20, 2013 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden and Georgia Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips was born in Barbour County, AL to Jim Phillips and Minnie Braswell Martin Phillips. He moved to Seminole County, GA early in his life and had resided here for a number of years. He leaves to cherish his memory, three brothers, William Albert Phillips and his wife Mollie of Dothan, AL, Larry Phillips and his wife Linda of Iron City, GA, and Thomas Earl “Red” Phillips of Donalsonville, GA; as well as three sisters, Emma Loraine Phillips of Colquitt, GA, Louise Chambless and her husband Nelson of Colquitt, GA, and Ella McCusker and her husband Doug of Cleveland, GA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Active pallbearers will be Paul Phillips, Charlie McMillan, Chad Phillips, Tony Phillips, Tim McMillan, and Brantley McMillan. Glenn McMillan will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
