ROBERT SEAY MONROE

Mr. Robert Monroe, age 83, of Donalsonville Georgia passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014 at the Donalsonville Hospital.Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA with Bishop Patrick Monroe officiating. Interment will follow at Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Monroe was born June 13, 1930 in Dothan, AL to James Monroe and Viola Doster Monroe. He served his country in the US Air Force and retired as an air traffic controller. After his retirement, he worked as Supervisor of Voter Registration and Elections of Lexington County, SC. He was also very active in Lion’s Club work.He leaves to cherish his memory three sons; Michael; T. Monroe and his wife Kay of Orlando, FL; Patrick K. Monroe and his wife Pam of Indian Lake Estates, FL; Dennis S. Monroe and his wife Robin of Charleston, SC; and an uncle, Ernest Doster of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Tamara Monroe and Davin Monroe. He was preceded in death by his father, James Monroe, his mother Viola Doster Monroe Ingram, and his step-father, Chipley A.
