JOHN PLEASANT "PORKY"

John Edward Pleasant, age 47, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his residence. The son of John Alvin Pleasant and the late Linda Lane Pleasant, he was born July 19, 1967 in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Pleasant worked as an electrician and was a member of the Electricians Union. Funeral services for Mr. Pleasant will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Kip Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with David Spooner, Dennis Spooner, Jake Spooner, Brad Trawick, Bud Miller, John Easom, and Scott Hartzog serving as casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM. He leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Jack Newberry and his wife Kim of Iron City, GA; a sister, Patty Atkinson of Iron City, GA; a son, McKay Pleasant of Arlington, GA; a niece, Drew Atkinson of Iron City, GA; a nephew, Lane Newberry of Iron City, GA; and his father, Johnny Pleasant of Cantonment, FL. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Roger and Eloise Spooner of Iron City, GA; Jackie Skeen of Donalsonville, GA; Don and Joanne Skeen of Donalsonville, GA; as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Pleasant.
