ROBERT GIVENS

Robert V. Givens, age 66, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Givens was born in DeFuniak Springs, FL on October 7, 1948 to Henry Clayton Givens and Mattie Ella King Givens. He worked until his retirement as a diesel mechanic with Coca-Cola and was a member of Salem-Seminole Baptist Church. He and his wife, Carol, were also members of the motorcycle club, Gold Wing Association. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carol Givens of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Robert Rae Givens and his wife Michelle of Donalsonville, GA and James Robert Givens and his wife Jessica of Donalsonville, GA; a brother, J.R. Givens of Brinson, GA; and three sisters, Evelyn Williams of St. Louis, Missouri, Joanne Rich and her husband Lafayette of Bainbridge, GA, and Mary Polk of Climax, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jessie Clayton Givens and his wife Haylee, Jessica Ann Givens, Shaunna Hunter, Sarah Ritter, Abigail Ritter, and Aaron James Givens; as well as numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. Mr. Givens was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clayton Givens and Mattie Ella King Givens; a brother, Henry D. Givens; a sister, Kathleen Hunter; and a son, Benjamin Givens.
