ROBERT LEE WHISMAN

Robert Lee Whisman, age 62, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Tuesday morning, May 31, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church in Donalsonville, GA with Rev. James Younis officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 2:00 PM, right before the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Seminole County Warpath on Cancer c/o Lucy Thomas PO Box 616 Donalsonville, GA 39845. Mr. Whisman was born in Huntington, WV on August 30, 1953 to Edward Eugene Whisman and Stella Mae Marshall Whisman. He served his country in the United States Army and was retired as a prison guard from the Bainbridge PSATC. Mr. Whisman attended Salem-Seminole Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking and restoring old cars. He was a volunteer fireman with the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Inez Whisman of Donalsonville, GA; two sons, Jeremy Halley of West Virginia and Donald Whisman and his wife Misty of Arabi, GA; a daughter, Whitney Jones and her husband Buck of Iron City, GA; as well as five brothers and 4 sisters. Mr. Whisman is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy and Mitchell Halley, Serah, Abie, and Emily Whisman, and Jackson and Jhett Jones. Mr. Whisman was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Eugene Whisman and Stella Mae Marshall Whisman; two brothers; and three sisters.
