MARY WHITAKER

Mrs. Mary Pauline Whitaker, age 92, of Jakin, GA passed away on Friday morning, September 2, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Whitaker will be held on Tuesday Morning, September 6, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Rev. Ryan Carnes officiating. Interment will follow in the Jakin Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Jakin, GA with Bobbie Baldwin, Jr., Michael Whitaker, Larry Lanton, Steve Miller, Stephen Miller and Mark Whitaker serving as casktebearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Whitaker was born in Abbeville, AL on September 10, 1923 to Sol and Mary Temperance Newman. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Ronald Whitaker of Jakin, GA, Marilyn Anderson of Bainbridge, GA, Holden Whitaker (Joette Bauman) of Jakin, GA, Debra Whitaker of Jakin, GA, Sidney Whitaker (Cathy Martin) of Dothan, AL and Gloria Miller (Stephen) of Dothan, AL; her siblings, Jack Newman (Joyce) of Palm Bay, FL, Wynette Eggler (Joe) of Miami Lakes, FL and Delores Pyke (Bob) of Boca Raton, FL; and a daughter-in-law, Marie Whitaker. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, one being a loving grandson and main caregiver, Bobbie Baldwin, Jr., that stood by her every second. She is also survived by many great grandchildren. Mrs. Whitaker was preceded in death by her parents, Sol and Mary Temperance Newman; her husband, Sidney B. Whitaker, Jr.; two sons, Earl Whitaker and Randall Whitaker.
