DELMA LEE MCMULLEN WILLIAMS

November 7, 1937 — October 14, 2017

Delma Lee McMullen Williams, age 79, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, GA. Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville with Rev. Tommy Dobbins and Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Scott Mitchell, John Gray, Steve Bailey, Lewis Godby, Perry Price, Ed King, Chris Thomas, and Mike Rogerson serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Georgia Baptist Children's Home PO Box 329 Palmetto, GA 30268. She was a native of Early County and a graduate of Jakin High School, where she met and married her husband of 63 years, Marshall Williams. Delma became a military wife when her husband joined the Air Force. During those 20 years, she assumed the hardships of raising a family during many relocations and unaccompanied assignments of her husband. Her emplyment to help support the family included district manager of military beauty and barber shop on bases from California to Texas, tupperware sales manager on Guam, owner and operator of vacation rentals in North Carolina mountains, and others. Delma was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Donalsonville. She enjoyed antique collecting and mountain living. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Marshall and two daughters, Tammy Williams Smith and her husband Michael of Loganville, GA and Marsha Williams of Donalsonville, GA. Delma is also survived by three grandchildren, Audrey Jarrett and her husband Keith, Lindsey Rutland and her husband Tyler, and Dakota Smith; two great grandchildren, Matthew Jarrett and Mitchell Jarrett; as well as two sisters, Margie Murray and her husband Bill of Jakin, GA and Mary Gray and her husband Sammy of Lake Seminole. Delma was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Brown McMullen and Lucille Jones McMullen; as well as one brother, John McMullen. Evans-Skipper Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
