JOHN H. "JOHNNY" BRIDGES

John H. "Johnny" Bridges, age 61, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Friday evening, October 20, 2017 at Donalsonville Hospital. Funeral services for Johnny will be held on Monday morning, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville with Mark Preston officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with E.C. Bridges, Warren Wheat, Scott Preston, Bruce Phillips, and Terry Shamblin serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM at the church prior to the service. Mr. Bridges was born in Donalsonville, GA on February 18, 1956 to Herbert C. Bridges and Doris Starling Bridges. Johnny enjoyed visiting his brother and sisters in different parts of the United States, but he always was ready to return to "my town" as he loving referred to Donalsonville. Johnny never met anyone who couldn't help but love him. He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother and sisters, Don Bridges of Athens, GA, Sue Holman of Schertz, TX, Jean Preston of Donalsonville, GA, and Beverly Wheat and her husband Warren of Lexington, KY. Johnny is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Scott Preston, Mark Preston, Don Lee Holman, Marci Shafto, Debra Reus, Donna Jilek, and Eric Holman; as well as several great nieces and great nephews. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert C. Bridges and Doris Starling Bridges. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
