GENEVA PHILLIPS CROOM

December 7, 1936 — January 18, 2018

Geneva Phillips Croom, age 81, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday evening, January 18, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. Croom will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Dekle and Rev. David Roland officiating. Interment will follow in Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem-Seminole Baptist Church 6584 Hwy 374 Donalsonville, GA 39845. The family will be gathering at the home of Cecil and Susie Croom. Mrs. Croom was born on December 7, 1936 in Colquitt, GA to Noah Phillips and Alice Faircloth Phillips. She was a homemaker and member of Salem-Seminole Baptist Church. Mrs. Croom loved to cook and everyone was especially fond of her pound cakes, italian cream cakes and cheese biscuits. She loved her family and was a very quiet and kind-hearted person. Mrs. Croom made no difference between the children, they were ALL theirs. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Carlton Croom of Donalsonville, GA; her children, Katherine Cassista and her husband Jim of Ponte Vedra, FL, Cheryl Bousson of Jacksonville, FL, Scott Baxter and his wife Rebecca of Lawrenceville, GA, Mickie Croom of Blountstown, FL, Cecil Croom and his wife Susie of Donalsonville, GA, Kent Croom and his wife Linda of Donalsonville, GA, and Rhonda Carroll and her husband Don of Daphne, AL. She is also survived by two sisters, Audrey Earnest and her husband J.C. of Donalsonville, GA and Joyce Sartain of Albany, GA; her brother, Lamar Phillips and his wife Loretta of Virginia Beach, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Croom was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Alice Faircloth Phillips; her son, Warner Baxter, Jr.; her first husband, Warner Baxter, Sr.; her brother, Earl Phillips; and her sister, Ruth Rathel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
