Andrew Eugene “Andy” Alday, age 78, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 23, 2025, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services for Mr. Alday will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Springfield Baptist Church in Jakin, GA with Rev. Mark Chapman and Rev. Slade Alday officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, GA with Larry Fennell, Josh Hicks, Kevin Lewis, Dylan Conrad, Tony Johnson, and Kenny King serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday evening, Sept. 26, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mr. Alday was born in Donalsonville, GA on June 18, 1947, to Paul and Louise Ledford Alday. He was a graduate of Seminole County High School and a member of Springfield Baptist Church. Mr. Alday worked as a heavy equipment operator for Georgia Pacific for 46 years before his retirement. In his younger years, he loved to play softball, and he still enjoyed hunting and fishing every chance he had. Mr. Alday loved his family and spending time with them, but nothing could take the place of the love he had for his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Loretta Alday of Donalsonville, GA; his daughters, Casey Alday and husband Jason Barlow and Kristy Walker and husband Jamie all of Bainbridge, GA; his grandchildren, Skyler Odom (Summer Dunham) and Andlee Odom (Dylan Conrad); and great grandchildren, Kason, Gracie, Makinzi, Joelynn, Remington, and Ryder; his step-son, Phillip Jones and his wife Ashley; his step-grandchildren, Troy Jones and Landon Jones. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Shirley Alday of Donalsonville, GA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Alday was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Louise Alday and his brothers, Sambo Alday and Bobby Alday.
