Anne Greene Dorrell, age 94, passed away peacefully on Nov. 5, 2020 at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, GA. Mrs. Dorrell was born in Iron City, GA on Dec. 1, 1925 to Ernest James Greene and Eleanor Lane Greene. She led an amazing life from 1925 through the Great Depression, into World War II (wife to former POW and B-17 pilot), through the Korean and Vietnam Wars, then married, settled down in Jacksonville, FL and raised two boys. She lived in more than a dozen states, held so many interesting jobs including her last one, Parrish Visitor at Oakhurst Methodist Church in Seminole, FL. She was always cheerful, loved gardening, entertained so many on the piano, and wow what a wonderful mom. Blue Skies and Calm Seas await her and those before her. She was a former Miss Seminole County, master gardener and worked for the Department of Defense during the war. Her family is so proud of the life she lived AND she did it her way. She is loved by her family forever and a day. The family will plan a memorial service to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Ste 800 Miami, FL 33131. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, James B. Dorrell of Burbank, CA and John P. Dorrell and wife Cheryl of Johns Creek, GA; her grandchildren, Caroline M. Dorrell, Jacob Blumenfeld and Alex Blumenfeld; her brother, Alfred Greene and Geanette of Iron City, GA, her sister, Barbara Greene Sawyer of San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dorrell was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest J. Greene and Eleanor L. Greene; her brother, James “Jim” Green and her sisters, Leonora Greene Ingram and Helen Greene Andress.
