ARLENE ARD DOZIER

Arlene Ard Dozier, age 80, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Tallahassee Memorial in Tallahassee, FL.   The family will receive friends at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home on Friday, August 2, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM. No services are planned at this time.  Mrs. Dozier was born in Bainbridge, GA on Nov. 14, 1938 to Jessie James Ard and Ruby Lynn Ard.  She served for a short time in the US Coast Guard and retired from the City of Macon where she worked as a mailroom supervisor. Mrs. Dozier was a member of Hammock Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening and talking about old times.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 5901 Peachtree Dunwoody Road Atlanta, GA 30328.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Alan Dozier of Donalsonville, GA; two brothers, Wayne Ard (Martha) of San Bernardino, CA and Willis Ard of Ashford, AL; a nephew, Jonathan Ard of Ashford, AL as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Dozier was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie James Ard and Ruby Lynn Ard and a half-brother, Elwood Haas.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
