BRENDA GAIL WHITTEN ASHWORTH

Brenda Gail Whitten Ashworth, age 72, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Sunday evening, August 17, 2025, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Scott Messer officiating.

Mrs. Ashworth was born in Troup County, GA on May 23, 1953, to Jackson and Ava Carden Whitten. She was a homemaker and member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Ashworth loved her family, reading, fishing, and puzzles.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Alfred Ashworth; her children, Stephanie Smith and husband Jamie of Cairo, GA and Kenneth Ashworth and wife Cheryl of Aiken, SC; her grandchildren, Jessica Lewis, Jonathon Smith, Carlye Ashworth, Aiden Ashworth, Kyle Ashworth, and Kevin Ashworth; as well as a great grandson, James Lewis, Jr. A brother, Johnny Whitten; a brother-in-law, James Williams and wife Faye Bozeman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Ashworth was preceded in death by her parents, Jackson and Ava Carden Whitten; a sister, Ernestine Williams; two brothers, Raymond Whitten and Roger Whitten; and an infant son, Samuel Ashworth.
