Charles Childree

Charles W. Childree, Sr., age 85 of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Childree will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Trawick officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with Loren Shattles, Robert Godwin, Randy Stewart, Perry Clements, Royce Davis, Roger Story and Davy Davis serving as casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Childree was born in Headland, AL on January 16, 1934 to Charlie Crawford Childree and Lila Viola Tindell Childree. He served in the United States Navey and worked as a farmer. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Young Farmers. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kaye Davis Childree; his son, James Childree; his daughter, Vie Cherry and her husband Ricky all of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by a sister, Jean Middleton and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Childree was preceded in death by his parents; his son Charles Weldon “Don” Childree, Jr.; and three sisters, Elanor Sharron, Gladys Averett, and Thelma Stewart.
