CHARLES EUGENE GLISSON, JR.

Charles Eugene Glisson, Jr., age 58, of Colquitt, GA, passed away Sunday evening, August 9, 2026, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.

The family will host a memorial service on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Mr. Glisson was born in Jacksonville, FL, on December 27, 1967, to Charles Eugene Glisson, Sr. and Mary Alley Glisson. He worked for 15 years with the City of Bainbridge and served Bainbridge and Donalsonville as a police officer. He owned his own business, CEG Hood Cleaning Services, cleaning hood systems for restaurants. Everyone lovingly called him “Homer,” and he was a part of the movie, Red Neck Hunting Club”. Mr. Glisson enjoyed hunting, fishing, and photography. He especially loved his farm animals, but nothing could compare to the love he had for his family. Mr. Glisson was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mayela Glisson of Colquitt, GA; his stepson, Henry Ramirez and wife Maryann of Donalsonville, GA; his sons, Wesly Glisson and wife Brittany of Brinson, GA, Zachary Glisson and wife Blaine of Climax, GA, and Greyson Glisson and wife Briana of South Carolina. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ansley Glisson, Skylan Glisson, Diesel Glisson, Axle Glisson, Zayla Glisson, Hutley Glisson, Oliver Glisson, and Dolly Glisson; as well as his sister, Jenny Bostick of Knoxville, TN; his aunt, Gloria Locates; his cousin, Paula Waycaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Glisson was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Eugene Glisson, Sr. and Mary Alley Glisson, as well as a sister, Cindy Doyle.
