DALE ALLEN YATES

Dale Allen Yates, age 66, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2025, while working in his beloved pea patch.

The family will hold a memorial service on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 5:00 PM at 7167 Hwy 39S Donalsonville, GA (beside his pea patch).  Rev. James Scarborough will officiate and everyone is encouraged to wear something cool for the summertime heat.  

Mr. Yates was born in Donalsonville, GA on December 5, 1958, to Sylvester and Lottie Alday Yates.  He was a farmer/truck driver.  

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Shelly Smith and John and Sherry Delk and Scooter; his grandchildren, Haylee Givens and Clay, Kalon Delk, Myra Hornsby and Brantley, Ashton Smith, and Kendall Smith; and his great grandchildren, Ava Givens, Will Givens, Callan Hornsby, and one on the way.  Also surviving are two sisters, Delores King and Chris Fulcher; special friend, Sandra Glisson; special friend/right hand man, J.D. "Pookie" Parks; special niece, Beverly Atkinson; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Lottie Alday Yates; his brother, Benny Yates; his sister, Dorothy Reeves; his son, Bubby Yates; a nephew, Calvin Atkinson, Jr.; as well as a grandson, Christian Yates Walker.
