DALLAS FOSTER WURST, JR.

April 27, 1932 — July 22, 2025

DONALSONVILLE

Dallas Foster Wurst, Jr., age 93, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.

Funeral services for Mr. Wurst will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Friendship Methodist Church with Rev. Nate Lehman officiating. The services will conclude in the church; however burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas F. Wurst, IV, Justin Gilbert, Jason Gilbert, and Aaron Gilbert. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the church.

Mr. Wurst was born in Orlando, FL on April 27, 1932, to Dallas Foster Wurst, Sr. and Omera Minter Wurst. He graduated from high school as well as completed his first two years of college at Georgia Military College. Foster then earned his bachelors degree in History from Troy State. Mr. Wurst served his country in the United States Army and earned the rank of Lieutenant. After his discharge from the Army, he entered the field of agri-business as a warehouseman and later became a licensed insurance broker. He later retired from Three Notch EMC, where he worked for a number of years as a meter reader. Mr. Wurst was a member of the Donalsonville Lions Club and American Legion Post 157, as well as Friendship Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men’s Sunday School Class as well as the choir.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Dallas F. Wurst, III and his wife Dolly of Peachtree City, GA, Patrick Wurst of Albany, GA, and Johnathan Wurst-Ferrer and his spouse Alex Ferrer-Wurst of south Florida; two grandchildren, Dallas F. Wurst, IV and McKinnon Elaina Wurst; three step-grandsons, Justin Gilbert and his wife Jennifer, Jason Gilbert, and Aaron Gilbert and his wife Hanna; and two great grandsons, Arthur Gilbert and Malcom Gilbert. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Priest of Tallahassee, FL.

Mr. Wurst was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas Foster Wurst, Sr. and Omera Minter Wurst, as well as his wife, Patricia Hornsby Wurst.
