Dianne Marr Smith, age 50, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Zach Morris, Brandon Helms, Reed Stark, Gabe Spence, Toby Spence, David Moseley, Eric Anglin, and Brandan Anglin serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home at 1:00 PM. Due to the ongoing concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, masks are to be worn and social distancing practiced. Mrs. Smith was born in Brunswick, GA on March 6, 1970 to Edward Marr and Carolyn Meyers Marr. She graduated from Seminole County High School in 1988 and went on to earn her RN degree from Wallace College in Dothan, AL. She began her nursing career at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, AL where she worked on the cardiac floor. After working as a cardiac nurse, she began working as a hospice nurse, having worked with Wiregrass Hospice, Gentiva Hospice, and Flint River Hospice. Dianne worked as a hospice nurse for about 14 years before working with Miller County Nursing Home and then with Southeast Alabama Medical Center and as a traveling nurse. Nursing truly was her passion. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends when she wasn't busy caring for others. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Michael Smith of Donalsonville, GA; her father, Edward Marr of Donalsonville, GA; her children, Trevor Smith and Courtney of Blakely, GA, and Amelia Smith and Erin Smith both of Donalsonville, GA; her sisters, Denise Parrish (Steve) of Dothan, AL and Donna Marr of Ozark, AL; and her grandsons, Cohen Bo Smith and Jentry Allen Smith. Two nephews, Eric Anglin (Raya) and Brandan Anglin (Christy), and a niece, Amber Clay (Sean), as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Marr and her brother, David Marr. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
