DON ULMAN WALTERS

Rev. Don Ulman Walters, age 79, of Brinson, GA passed away Thursday evening, January 25, 2024, at Bainbridge Health and Rehab.

 The family will hold a memorial service on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Iron City Baptist Church with Rev. Lyle Brackin officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Georgia Baptist Children's Homes, PO Box 329, Palmetto, GA 30268. 

Rev. Walters was born in Albany, GA on March 26, 1944, to Ransom Littleton "Chuck" Walters and Ulmaire "Myra" McMurphy Walters.  He received his Bachelor of Arts from Mississippi College and his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Rev. Walters was licensed by First Baptist Church of Lucedale, MS, and he was ordained by Highland Hills Baptist Church of San Antonio, TX in 1972.  During his years of active service in the ministry, Rev. Walters served at numerous churches, including First Baptist Church of Tiovoli, TX, Sand Hill Baptist Church in Richton, MS, Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA, Pineland Missionary Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA, Memorial Baptist Church in Moultrie, GA, Southside Baptist Church in Griffin, GA, and Echota Baptist Church in Calhoun, GA.  

Mr. Walters leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Darlene Walters of Bainbridge, GA; his children, Cathy Baucom and her husband Kerry of Cave Spring, GA and Amanda Brackin and her husband Rev. Lyle Brackin of Brinson, GA; as well as his grandchildren, Laura Riley, Cole Riley, Meaghan Riley, James Riley, Ethan Riley, Charlie Baucom, and Emily Brackin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Myra Walters, as well as a daughter, Laura Walters.
