Dorothy Jean Chandler Lanier “GaMaw”, age 84, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Friday morning, December 12, 2025, at her daughter’s home in Bainbridge, GA.
Celebration of life services for Mrs. Lanier will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Randy Phillips, Tony Reynolds, Ira Serna, Randy Bryan, Cody Casey and Vann Bass serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lanier was born in Donalsonville, GA on July 20, 1941, to Thomas Chandler and Mary Lee Alday Chandler. Mrs. Lanier loved to read, go shopping, watch Fox News and music by Elvis. She will be most remembered for being a devoted mother and grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Donna Thuillier and her husband Paul of Millen, GA, Jacqueline Scruggs and her husband Jimmy of Bainbridge, GA, Teresa Phillips (Johnny Taylor) of Donalsonville, GA and Vanessa Casey of Pelham, GA; her grandchildren, Nancy Jo Oglesby, Sebrina Myers, Lindsey Flake, Jessica Newberry, Tony Reynolds, Marsha Robinson, Randy Phillips, Cassandra Phillips, James Phillips, Jennifer Pate, Rachel Casey, Cody Casey and Brooke Bass. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Chandler and Mary Lee Alday Chandler; and her husband, Palmer Lanier
