EDNA HAND HOOKS

Edna Hand Hooks, age 89, of Redington Beach, FL and formerly of the Bainbridge/Donalsonville, GA area, passed away on Tuesday evening, June 15, 2021 at Empath Health Care Center Mid Pinellas in Pinellas Park, FL. Funeral services for Mrs. Hooks will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Hooks officiating. Interment will follow in Brinson City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the organization of your choice. Mrs. Hooks was born in Dothan, Alabama on March 11, 1932 to Ressie and Ella Thompson Hand. She was a homemaker and member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Hooks was a gentle, caring and loving person and a Baptist spiritualist whom always sought God's word and comfort. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and would always find a time to pass on her Bible teachings, cooking tips, gospel singing, coping with life and just how to be a good person. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, William Jerry Hooks and wife Maureen and Brenda Melissa Salvatore (Carl); her grandchildren, Margie Hooks (Chris Fontaine), Kim Windisch (Shawn), Sharie Parsons (Paul), and BobbieJo Head (Nate); her great grandchildren, Ella Windisch, Ethan Windisch, Peyton Parsons, Nathan Head, and Kayde Head; as well as her brother, Lamar "Sonny" Hand. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Hooks was preceded in death by her parents, Ressie and Ella Thompson Hand; her husband William H. Hooks; and her siblings, Eural Hand, Ed Hand, Travis Hand, Burl Hand, Junior Hand, James Hand, Earl Hand, and Mary Cox.
