EDNA NELL BODIFORD NEWBERRY

Edna Nell Bodiford Newberry, age 85, of Blakely, GA passed away Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2025, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Newberry will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Flat Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church.

Mrs. Newberry was born in Donalsonville, GA on August 1, 1939, to Sydney Bodiford and Esther Hicks Bodiford. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and spending time with her family, whom she cherished dearly. Mrs. Newberry was also known for having a green thumb and loved plants. She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Theresa Sheffield (Tim), Marilyn Brackin (Charles), Marcus Newberry (Melissa), and Sharon Pickle (Cory); 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Sharon Bodiford.

Mrs. Newberry was preceded in death by her parents, Sydney and Esther Hicks Bodiford; her husband, Billy Joe Newberry; and her siblings, Othell Bush, Audrey Smith, Cecil Bodiford, nelson Bodiford, and Buddy Bodiford.
