Ezekiel James "Jimmy" Miller

June 15, 1943 — January 5, 2020

Ezekiel James (Jimmy) Miller, 76, of Donalsonville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Great Gran’s Personal Care Home with his family and loved ones at his side.  He was born at home in Jakin, Georgia on June 15, 1943 to the late John Fuller Miller and Florence Estelle Pace Miller.  He grew up on the farm and attended school in Jakin, Georgia.  Like his older brothers, he enjoyed playing basketball for the Jakin High School Rebels.  He retired as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and spent many years measuring land for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS), an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture.  During all his adult life, he worked as a farm consultant for many farmers in Southwest Georgia.  He enjoyed fishing, but his passion was quail hunting.  He was a member and deacon of Union Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia.  He was a compassionate friend to all. Jimmy is survived by his son, Greg Miller (Mary Ann) of Valdosta, Georgia, and his daughter, Kim Mitchell (Scott) of Donalsonville, Georgia; his grandsons, John Miller and Clark Miller of Valdosta, Georgia; a very special friend, Norma Hornsby of Colquitt, Georgia; the mother of his children, Linda Miller of Donalsonville, Georgia; his siblings, Frank Miller (LaRue) of Edison, Georgia and Lillian Gallatin of Midland, Georgia; sisters-in-law Pam Miller of Donalsonville, Georgia and Sharon Miller of Donalsonville, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lydia Miller, Henry Miller, Raymond Miller, and Gerald Miller. The family will host a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Union Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia.  Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Georgia with Reverend Calvin Arnold officiating followed by a burial service at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, Georgia.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Union Baptist Church, 643 Shingler Road, Donalsonville, Georgia 39845. Arrangements entrusted with Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
