HELEN SMITH CHILDERS

February 25, 1932 — September 24, 2020

Helen Smith Childers, age 88, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24, 2020 at Bainbridge Memorial Manor. Funeral services for Mrs. Childers will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden and Robert Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Mark Whittaker, Chad White, Jarrod Harrison, Chandler Harrison, Brayden White, and Hunter Womble serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Mrs. Childers was born in Donalsonville, GA on Feb. 25, 1932 to George Frank and Georgia Ann Berry Smith. She was a homemaker and active member of Unity Church of God where she led the women’s group. Family was very important to Mrs. Childers and she enjoyed spending time with them all. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Yvonne Jones (Bubba) of Attapulgus, GA; her daughter-in-law, Sara Stuart of Donalsonville, GA; three sisters, Smitty Willis of St. Augustine, FL, Dot Gay of Albany, GA, and Pat Blackburn of St. Augustine, FL; her grandchildren, Jennifer Whittaker (Mark) of Donalsonville, GA, Marci Harrison (Jarrod) of Ashford, AL, and Ashley White (Chad) of Donalsonville, GA; her great grandchildren, Chelsea Whittaker (Cody), Katina Womble (Hunter), Haley Whittaker, Zane White, and Brayden White all of Donalsonville, GA, Chandler Harrison, Madalynn Harrison, and Maeson Harrison all of Ashford, AL; and one great great grandson on the way, Kreed. Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her parents, George Frank and Georgia Ann Berry Smith; her husband, William Childers; her son, Ken Stuart; her great granddaughter, Hannah Grace Harrison; and two brothers, John Smith and Cecil Smith.
