JAMES NEWTON CHILDREE

James Newton Childree, age 61, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Friday afternoon, March 29, 2024, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Childree will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Hancock officiating.  Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with James Kincaid, Kenny Stewart, Brayden Thornton, Brad Thompson, Brian Childree, and John Lynn serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Mr. Childree was born in Donalsonville, GA on October 1, 1962, to Charles Weldon Childree, Sr. and Kaye Davis Childree.  Farming was his passion and the occupation he had been involved in all of his life.  He enjoyed boat riding and fishing in his spare time, and was of the Methodist faith.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Kaye Childree; two daughters, Ashley Childree and Amber Childree; and a sister, Vie Cherry and Ricky.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Shayleigh Thornton and Brayden Thornton, as well as his nephews, Brian Childree and Dalisha, Sloan Childree and Dawn, and Charles Weldon Childree, III and a niece, Alicia Boudreaux and Robert.

Mr. Childree was preceded in death by his father, Charles Weldon Childree, Sr. and his brother, Don Childree.
