JANET KELLEY LANE

December 25, 1930 — August 16, 2019

Janet Kelley Lane, age 88, passed away August 16, 2019 at Extendicare Nursing Home in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Lane will be held on August 18, 2019 at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating.  Interment will follow in Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Ashley Weaver, Charles Tabb Lane, Tyler Willis, John Hanna, Carlton Kelley Jr., Vann Hornsby, Bill Hornsby, and Todd Massey serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Janet was born in Miller County on December 25, 1930 to Lewis Benjamin Kelley and Estelle Williams Kelley.  After marriage to Charles H. Lane in 1949, she was a lifelong resident of Seminole County.  Janet was a housewife, a great mother, grandmother, excited about becoming a great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her sons, Charles Edgar Lane of Fort Gaines, GA and Don Lane (Rhonda) of Iron City, GA, and her daughter, Susan Lane Weaver (John) of Colquitt, GA.  Mrs. Lane is also survived by her grandchildren Ashley Weaver, Haley Weaver Hanna (John), Kayla Lane (Tyler) and Charles Tabb Lane (Brooklyn); as well as several nieces and nephews. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard Lane; her brothers, Arthur Kelley, Bruton Kelley, Cecil Kelley, and Carlton Kelley Sr; and her sisters, Abbie Williams, Irene Cato, and Christine Smith. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Extendicare Nursing Home and Kindred Hospice for taking such great care of her.
