JOEL BATTS, JR.

September 9, 1928 — July 4, 2018

Joel Batts, Jr., age 89, of Brinson, GA passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Batts will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Messer officiating.  Interment will be held at New Enterprise Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project by visiting the website at woundedwarriorproject.org. Mr. Batts was born in Damascus, GA on September 9, 1928 to Joel Batts, Sr. and Mary Alice Adams Batts.  He served his country in the United States Army, retiring from this branch of service.  Mr. Batts continued on to work for Three Notch EMC as a right of way foreman and retired from this company not once but twice.  He was also a Shriner.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Joette Bauman, Tanna Harrison, and Lois Adamovich; his brothers, John Batts, Jimmy Batts, and Jerry Batts; his sisters, Jean Johnston, Joyce Fennell, and Judy Morse; his grandchildren, Annette Bauman, David Adamovich, Stephen Adamovich, and Robin Peppelman; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Batts was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Batts, Sr. and Mary Alice Adams Batts; his wife, Ramona Batts; three brothers, William Batts, Jack Batts, and Jessie Batts; and a sister, Nina Runner. Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
