JOHN DEE GERMAN

September 8, 1943 — February 25, 2024

DONALSONVILLE

John Dee German Jr., age 80, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Sunday morning, Feb. 25, 2024, at his residence.

The family will hold a memorial service at Lake Seminole Baptist Church with Rusty Bradley officiating.   The date and time will be announced later.

Mr. German was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on Sept. 8, 1943, to John Dee German and Velberg Harriet Quall German.  He served his country in the United States Air Force earning the rank of Major.  He held a Masters of Science Degree in Engineering Physics (Space Physics).  Mr. German worked as a research scientist for the Air Force, serving as an engineer scientist, physicist, and electronic engineer, as well as working in National Security Management. He retired from the Air Force and Boeing, and was a member of Lake Seminole Baptist Church.  While in the Air Force, Mr. German was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with Four Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with One Oak Leaf Cluster.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Linda German of Donalsonville, GA; his children, John Dee German, III and wife Laura of Albuquerque, NM, Brian Christopher German and wife Marci of San Diego, CA, and James Brandon German and wife Elisa of AIX-EN-Province, France; his stepchildren, Mike Allmon of Donalsonville, GA and Lori Johnson of Dothan, AL; as well as his sister, Linda Hope McKee of Aurora, Illinois.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
