JOHN RAY STOUT

John Ray Stout, age 78, of Ft. Gaines, GA, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.

Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, September 28, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA. No services will be held per John Ray’s request. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to JCC All Animals Matter, 15030 River Street, Blakely, GA 39823.

John Ray was born in Sanford, NC on Sept. 14, 1947, to Paul and Evelyn Cummings Stout.  He was a graduate of Seminole County High School and served in the Army National Guard.  John Ray was engaged in agriculture, having farmed for over 60 years.  John Ray was a hard worker, but between planting and harvesting seasons he would enjoy life by spending time with family and friends whom he loved dearly, fishing, enjoying the sunsets at Lake Eufaula and resting with his dog.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carolyn Stout of Ft. Gaines, GA; his daughter, Stacy Stout Poe and Robbie of Tallahassee, FL; his son, Jay Stout of Bainbridge, GA; and his grandchildren, Jordan Stout and John Stout of Bainbridge, GA.  Also surviving are his nephew, Bert Thomas of Woodville, FL, his brother-in-law, Gary Clark and Kathy of Buck Hill Falls, PA, and his fur ever friend, Fancy.  John Ray has a Special circle of friends who also survive.

John Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Evelyn Stout; a grandson, Zachary Mills; and his sister, Linda Stout Thomas.
