KENNETH L. "BUTCH" HORNSBY

Kenneth L.  “Butch” Hornsby, age 77, of Iron City, GA passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Azalea Gardens Alzheimer's Special Care Center in Tallahassee, FL. Funeral services for Mr. Hornsby will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 3:00 PM EST at New Hope Worship Assembly with Rev. Tim Bell officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 PM EST at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mr. Hornsby was born in Detroit, MI on October 17, 1941 to Eldridge Hornsby and Nell Howard Hornsby. He graduated high school in 1959 then attended and graduated from the Georgia Military Academy, Florida State University and John Marshall Law School. He practiced law and served his community for 40 years before retiring in 2011. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Ausley Hornsby of Iron City, GA; his children, Tracy and Zack Johnston of Lucy, AL, Kelly and Anita Hornsby of Warner Robins, GA, Holly Whitehead of Dothan, AL, Wade and Michelle (Miki) Hornsby of Donalsonville, GA; step-son, Chuck Caldwell and Rhonda of Madison, NC; sisters, June and Billy Gurr of Madison, GA, and Amy and Jerry Studdard of Thomasville, GA; brothers-in-law, Foster Wurst of Donalsonville, GA and Bobby Ausley and wife Sandra of Iron City, GA; sisters-in-law, Barbara and husband Tom Lillis of St. Louis, MO  and Juliette Hartley of Dothan, AL.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Haley Hardy and husband Wes, Taylor Hornsby, Trey Johnston, Anna Johnston, Kelsey Verity and husband Chayce, Kara Whitehead, Drew Hornsby, Will Hornsby, Lane Caldwell, Ben Caldwell and Rachel Fallin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Priscilla Kelly Hornsby; a sister, Pat Wurst; and a great granddaughter, Juniper Caldwell. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
