LARRY GENE ARD

Larry Gene Ard, age 76, of Iron City, GA passed away Friday, May 1, 2020 at his residence. The family will hold a private graveside service at this time. A memorial service will be announced later. Mr. Ard was born in Donalsonville, GA on May 14, 1943 to Isaac Ard and Allie Lee Roberts Ard. He served his country in the United States Army and owned and operated Iron City Convenience Store and the Longbranch for approximately 17 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 157 in Donalsonville, GA. Mr. Ard loved fishing and was a member of the "Fishermen and Liars Club". He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Steve Ard and his wife Samantha of Colquitt, GA and Gary Ard of Iron City, GA; his grandchildren, Sophie Ard, Chloe Ard, and Zac Ard; his stepson, Shane Brown and his wife Kim of Cedar Springs, GA; his step grandchildren, Taylor and Macy Brown; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Ard was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Allie Lee Roberts Ard; his wife, Carleen Ard; and four sisters, Jeanette Cox, Geneva Cox, Wylene Lane, and Clyde Cox.
