Mrs. Lee was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Tallassee, AL into a loving home to parents Melvin and Bonnie Taunton.
She was an excellent and beloved wife, devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking and serving family and friends with her famous southern meals, sewing homemade award-winning quilts (Dothan National Peanut Festival) for her children and grandchildren. When Mrs. Lee was not serving her family and making her famous quilts, she was a dedicated member actively serving Jakin United Methodist Church and the community.
She eagerly looked toward Heaven and the promises it brings in being united with her Lord and Savior, while being reunited with loved ones. She boldly professed her faith all the days of her life, raising her children in the church and was very thankful that they all are walking in the faith and sharing it with their own children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Bonnie Taunton ; her beloved husband of 51 years, Daniel Odis Turner; her beloved daughter, Terry Scott; two brothers, Melvin Taunton, Jr. and Robert L. Taunton; and sister, Estelle Douglas; while leaving to cherish her memories, beloved daughter, Debbie Horn (Bruce), granddaughter Heather, and great grandson, Kaden of Jakin. She also leaves behind her son-in-law, Rushy Scott of Jakin, grandsons Adam Scott (Laura0 of Appling, GA, Daniel Scott (Nancy) of Evans, GA, Stephen Scott (Brittany) of Donalsonville, GA, and numerous great grandsons and great granddaughters. She also leaves a very special niece whom she loved as a daughter, Cindy Murphy of Montgomery.
She will be missed everyday for her deep love of family, kind heart, devoted membership to Jakin United Methodist Church, and most importantly, her passion to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
