MABLE "MAWMAW" EARNEST CHANCE

Minnie Mabel “Mawmaw” Earnest Chance, age 89, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Saturday evening, July 28, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. Funeral services for Mrs. Chance will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church with Rev. Laddie DeRocco, Rev. Ken Cloud, and Rev. Travis Free officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Russell Chance, Doug Chance, Bryan Chance, J.C. Chance, Tony Morris, and Don Bishop serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation will be held on Monday evening, July 30, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Mrs. Chance was born in Donalsonville, GA on December 26, 1928 to John C. Earnest and Minnie Mitchell Earnest.  She was a homemaker and member of Salem-Seminole Baptist Church.  Mrs. Chance loved everyone and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is known for miles around for her crocheting skills, especially her name crochet pieces.  Mrs. Chance loved the Lord and wasn’t ashamed to let you know it. “Mawmaw”, as she was affectionately called by her family and many others, had a sweet spirit that touched many lives. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Marla C. Touchton, Carlton D. “Cotton” Chance and Allison, and Eddie C. Chance, Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Brenda Chance; her twin brother, J.C. Earnest and Audrey; as well as 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Chance was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie C. Chance, Sr.; two sons, Marvin “Bubba” Chance and John W. “Bill” Chance; three brothers, Claude Earnest, Clyde Earnest, and Hubert “Buck” Earnest; four sisters, Juanita Alday, Willie Matthews, Olene Helms, and Erma Bridwell; a son-in-law, Wilson C. Alday; and two grandsons-in-law, Dale Blanchard and Bryan Reese.
