MARINEL DAVIS

Mrs. Marinel Lyon Davis, age 85, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with interment to immediately follow. Mrs. Davis was born in Wrightsville, GA on October 10, 1934 to Harold and Minnie Mae Price Lyon. She received her BS in Zoology from the University of Georgia. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking and fishing and spending time doing whatever her husband, Dr. John B. Davis was doing at the time. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Richard Kelly Davis of Donalsonville, GA and Mary Beth Davis Knotts and husband Ronnie of Dothan, AL; her grandchildren, James Brian Davis (Abby R. Coleman) of Jesup, GA, Marcus Lee Davis (Monique) of Ashford, AL, and John Brandon Gary and John Derek Gary both of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as her brothers, Elmer Lyon (Joan) of Athens, GA and Harold Lyon, Jr. (Margie) of Fairfax, VA. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Lyon and Minnie Mae Price Lyon; her husband, Dr. John B. Davis; her son, Byron Davis; and her sister, Barbara Wood.
