Marshall Williams, age 89, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 10, 2025, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.
Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Donalsonville, with Rev. Michael Wingertsahn officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Memorial Gardens with John Gray, Perry Price, Scott Mitchell, Terry Shamblin, Mike Rogerson, and Kelly Baxter serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be active and inactive deacons of the church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donalsonville First Baptist Church, PO Box 81, Donalsonville, GA 39845 or to the Alpha Pregnancy Center, 721 W. 3rd St., Donalsonville, GA 39845.
Marshall was born in Jakin, GA on April 10, 1936, to Johnny Williams and Beryl Beard Williams. He was a graduate of Jakin High School and married Delma McMullen in 1954, who preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 2017.
He served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty years. After retirement from service, he was an entrepreneur of a small business and for 15 years owned and operated cabin rentals in the North Carolina mountains.
Marshall was an active member of Donalsonville First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. His hobbies were woodworking and hunting.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Tammy Williams Smith and her husband Michael of Loganville, GA and Marsha Williams of Donalsonville, GA. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Audrey Jarrett, Lindsey Rutland and her husband Tyler, and Dakota Smith; four great grandchildren, Matthew Jarrett, Mitchel Jarrett, Logan Rutland, and Sloane Rutland; five nieces and two nephews. A very special friend and companion, Ruth Shamblin, also survives.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Williams and Beryl Beard Williams; his wife Delma McMullen Williams; three brothers and two sisters.
