MELBA IRENE SCOTT

May 3, 1932 — September 2, 2018

Melba Irene Pinkney Scott, age 86, of Iron City, GA passed away Sunday evening, Sept. 2, 2018 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, AL. Funeral services for Mrs. Scott will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating.  Interment will follow in Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Al Bailey, Carl Scott, Ray Scott, Charles Scott, Robert Scott, and Rev. Jimmy Walden serving as active casketbearers.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, Sept. 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Unity Church of God 5096 Unity Church Road Iron City, GA 39859. Mrs. Scott was born in Cottonwood, AL on May 3, 1932 to Charlie and Pauline Petway Pinkney.  She was a homemaker and co-owner of Scott’s Transmission Service.  Mrs. Scott was a member of Unity Church of God in Iron City.  She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Carl Scott (Kathy), Robert Scott (Susan), Charles Scott (Amy), and Ray Scott (Debbie) all of Iron City, GA and her daughter-in-law, Becky Kinney of Iron City, GA. Mrs. Scott is also survived by her grandchildren, Shannon Kinney, Will Scott, Jessica Scott, Hadden Scott, Phillip Scott, Megan Scott, Trent Beard, Brittany Howard, Renea Easterwood, James Scott (Lana), Jennifer Barber, and Shawn Parker (Heather); her great grandchildren, Marla Kinney, Alea Phillips (Aaron), Riley Scott, Dixie Scott, Remington Scott, Tyler Scott, Amia Scott, Brody Scott, Makayla Scott, Ava Scott, Noah Trawick, Dalton Banyard, Jonah Banyard, Faith Howard, Jaylin Whitaker, Tanner Easterwood, Sawyer Scott, Kelsey Scott, Keith Parker, Wiley Barber, Summer Boyd, Parker Boyd, Nathan Parker, Skyler Parker, and Alexis Parker; and her great great grandchild, Blayke Phillips. Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Pinkney and Pauline Pinkney Peters; her husband, E.J. Scott; her son, Danny Kinney; two grandsons, Adam Kinney and John Parker; and her great grandson, Colton Scott.
