Mr. Alday was born on August 15, 1943, in Donalsonville, GA to James Crawford Alday and Era White Alday. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a supervisor in the Papermill Industry in both Georgia and Oklahoma and retired as a welder in Georgia. Stand-up comedian was never his “occupation,” but he was notorious for leaving many who came in contact with him laughing hysterically. He loved to go fishing, deer hunting, and hunting for arrowheads. He was known for his many varieties of home-made jelly, preserves, and pepper sauce; and would argue with anybody that his was the best. He was a skilled rooster trainer, well-known in several states.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 29 years, Jackie Alday of Donalsonville, GA and his children, Shawn Aldy of Donalsonville, GA, Tod Alday and wife Debbie of Albany, LA, and Theresa Joyce Hughes of Hammond, LA. Surviving step-children include Geron Brimlow, Raven Brimlow, Scott Brimlow and wife Opal, and Kesha Parish and husband Ronnie, all of Donalsonville, GA and Catea Houston and husband Heath of Bremen, GA. He has several beloved grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great grandchildren, as well as many devoted nephews and nieces.
Mr. Alday was preceded in death by his parents, James Crawford and Era White Alday.
