RALPH EDWARD JONES

Ralph Edward Jones, age 62, of Iron City, GA passed away Wednesday evening, June 24, 2020 at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, GA. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Merritt officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery with Jeff Croom, Chris Croom, Ron Spooner, Jaromy Henry, Benjamin Jared Dowd-Arrow, and Bobby Rivenbark serving as active casketbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Mr. Jones was born on March 11, 1958 in Donalsonville, GA to Andrew Jones and Nancy Atkinson Jones. He was the parts manager for Bridges Tractor Company in Brinson, GA and formerly served as the manager for Bainbridge Tractor Company for many years. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing, hunting dove and deer, riding jet skis, camping, and riding motorcycles. He loved all of his children and was happiest when spoiling his grandkids. He was affectionately known as “Big Kid”. Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Virginia Weeks Jones of Iron City, GA; his children, Christy Spooner of Donalsonville, GA and Paige Brookins (Bob) of Greenville, SC; his stepchildren, Tracey Kirkland (Paul) of Donalsonville, GA and Ricky Alday (Gina) of Donalsonville, GA; his brother, Charles Jones (Sandra) of Donalsonville, GA; his sister, Debra Jones Kraft of Donalsonville, GA; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones of Prattville, AL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sammy Alday, Kellee Alday, Sydney Kirkland, Gracie Kirkland, Cody Spooner, Bryson Chance, Katie Brookins, and Thomas Brookins; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jones and Nancy Atkinson Jones; his brothers, Robert Jones and Bill Jones; and his stepson, Daron Gordon.
