REBECCA POPE KINNEY

Rebecca Pope Kinney, age 77, of Iron City, GA, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026, at Southeast Health in Dothan, AL.

Graveside services for Mrs. Kinney will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Walden officiating.  Interment will immediately follow the service.

Mrs. Kinney was born in Phenix City, AL, on May 29, 1948, to Arthur Douglas Pope and Edna Euzille Eiland Pope.  She was a high school graduate and worked for a number of years as a bookkeeper.  Mrs. Kinney attended the Unity Church of God.  She loved gardening and her pets, as well as putting puzzles together, however her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shannon Kinney (Jeffrey Barrett) of Iron City, GA; her sister, Brenda Oswalt of Phenix City, AL; her grandchildren, Marla Kinney and Alea Worsley (Corey Mercer); and her great grandchild, Blayke Phillips.  Also surviving are numerous nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Kinney was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Douglas Pope and Edna Euzille Eiland Pope; her husband, Danny Kinney; her son, Adam Scott Kinney; and her brother, Richard Jackson Pope.
