Robert Joseph McMillen

Robert Joseph McMillen was truly sensational in every definition of the word. The definition of sensational is "very good and impressive". He would always reply he was sensational when asked how he was doing with a great big laugh. Robert enjoyed jokes and many nicknames throughout his life including: babydoll, gentle, and sunshine. He was a sensational husband of fifty-four years to his soulmate Lorraine. He was a sensational father to his daughters Dorann (Byron) Cobb and Mary (Will) Black. Robert always remembered and loved his three children that did not make it to term. He was a wonderful Grandfather to Benjamin Lewis, Vera Lynn Cobb, Luke Black, Hanna Jane Cobb, and Maggie Black. He was a wonderful brother-in-law to Louise (Mike) Slezak and Bonnie (Dennis) McKevitt.

Robert Joseph McMillen graduated with a degree in Labor and Industrial Relations from The Pennsylvania State University in 1969. He went on to earn a Master's in Elementary Education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Robert loved football, especially the Steelers and Penn State. We are Penn State!

Robert Joseph was a devout, lifelong Catholic and his faith was one of the few things in life that he took seriously. He loved the Eucharist and that was his last food on Earth.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy McMillen and wonderful wife Lorraine McMillen.

We would like to deeply thank Georgia Hospice for professional and compassionate care. We also want to show appreciation for Nancy, Laura and Jennifer for showing God's love in caring for Robert Joseph in the last few years. We are externally grateful to the staff at Great Grans for loving and caring for Robert Joseph in his last months. Our family would also like to thank the staff at Holy Family Catholic Church, especially Deacon Scott, for bringing him Holy Communion the last few years.
