Sharon Rebecca (Becky) Lewis died peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2023. She was 75 years old. Born in Miller County, Becky married Levonne Lewis and lived most of her life in Donalsonville. As a member of a farming family, Becky worked tirelessly as a homemaker, wife, and mother. She loved to work in her flower beds, cook big meals, refinish furniture and make cakes, candy and preserves. She kept family and friends well-supplied with canned vegetables, pecans and Mayhaw jelly. She worked for years at the Seminole County Library, where she inspired a love of reading in people of all ages. Rarely without a book in hand, “Miss” Becky had an encyclopedic knowledge of the library’s inventory and could quickly locate the right book for the right person. Prior to the library, Becky worked at Donalsonville Hospital and Little Indians Preschool. As much as she loved helping people in her professional roles, Becky’s favorite place was with her family. Over the years she wore many hats including scout leader, VBS volunteer at Rocky Ridge Baptist Church, 4-H parent, and SCHS band booster, to name a few. When her grandchildren arrived, she took every opportunity to support them in their activities. Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Levonne Lewis, and her parents, Leamon Mock and Ona Alice (Pete) DeBarry Mock, of Colquitt. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Renaud (Kip), and Alicia Alderman (Paul); grandchildren William and Charlie Alderman and Lilly and Audrey Renaud; sister Jan Clifton (Leonard); brother Loren (Bud) Mock and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. James Scarborough officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Seminole County Public Library at 103 West 4th Street, Donalsonville, Georgia, 39845, or the Seminole County Warpath on Cancer at 200 West 10th Street in Donalsonville, GA.
