SHEILA ROBERTS CAGLE

BAINBRIDGE

Sheila Roberts Cagle, 80, passed away February 10, 2023, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA after a lengthy battle with COVID.

 

A native of Donalsonville, GA, Sheila was born February 28, 1942, to the late Lura and Booge Roberts.  She was a graduate of Seminole County High School, Georgia Southern College, and Georgia State University.  After teaching in four states, she was retired from the Decatur County School System.

 

A social butterfly, Sheila enjoyed sewing, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and eating out.  She was a member of El Dorendo Baptist Church and WMU, Daughters of the American Revolution and Decatur County Retired Teachers Association.  Sheila was a resident of Riverside Place in Bainbridge.

 

Sheila is survived by daughters Sherri Miller Newberry and her husband Mike; Terri Miller Stefanou and her husband Alex; grandchildren Michaelyn Newberry Ray and her husband Carson Ray, Nicholas Stefanou, Michael Stefanou, and Ethan Stefanou; and great-grandchild Charlie Ray.  She is also survived by a sister, Louisa Rains, and her husband Bobby; and a brother, Reuben Roberts, and his wife Deborah.  Sheila was preceded in death by spouses Don Miller, Freddie Hughes, and Melvin Cagle.

 

Visitation will be February 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Evans Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 in the chapel.  Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville.  Pastor Wade Spooner will officiate.

 

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Stefanou, Michael Stefanou, Ethan Stefanou, Vic McNease, Jim McNease, and Trey Roberts.

 

Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
