SHELLY DIANNE OWENS HINES

Shelly Dianne Owens Hines, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister was born on July 17, 1962, in Hialeah, FL, to Billy R. Owen’s and Hilda Johnson Hornsby.  Shelly grew up in Iron City, GA.  She graduated from high school in 1980 from Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus, GA.  In 1993, Shelly graduated from LPN school and later received her RN degree in 1997.  She retired in 2024 as Nursing Administrator of Seminole Manor Nursing Home, where she dedicated 23 years as a nurse and 18 years as administrator.  Shelly was a compassionate, trusted, and caring nurse.  She was well-loved by the residents at the nursing home, treating them like family.  She brought joy to her residents by providing music, fun activities, and parties for all occasions.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 18 years, John Edwin Hines; her children, (Trey) James W. Alderman, III (Renee), Ansley Alderman Glisson (Jonathan), Jarrid Hines, Justin Hines (Regina) and John Ross Hines; her grandchildren, Savannah Alderman, Aaliyah Alderman, Avriana Scott, Aubree Hines, Haylee Hines, Audree Werner, Bailey Werner, Kylie Werner, and Chasity Earnest.  Also surviving are her mother, Hilda J. Hornsby; as well as her siblings, Rhonda Johnson Shelley (Phil), Steve Owens, Bobby Owens (Shan), Victoria Hornsby, and Jamie Underwood.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Shelly was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Billy R. and Myra Owens; stepfather, Phillip Hornsby; brothers, Dewitt Owens (infant) and Vincent Hornsby, as well as a nephew, Blake Owens.

Shelly’s compassionate heart and dedication to nursing touched countless lives.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seminole Manor Nursing Home Activities Fund or Seminole County Warpath on Cancer.
