Sue McCormick Richter

Barbara Sue McCormick Richter, age 74, of Donalsonville, GA passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Richter will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Chapman officiating.  Interment will follow at 2:00 PM EST at the Jehu Cemetery in Wewahitchka, FL with Barry Rogers, Rusty Bradley, Spence Touchton, Blaine Touchton, Sloan Childree, and Brian Childree serving as active pallbearers.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, February 13, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Richter was born in Port St. Joe, FL on October 28, 1949, to Preston Talmadge McCormick and Nellie White McCormick.  She was a graduate of Port St. Joe High School and worked for many years as a Federal State peanut inspector before becoming employed as a bank teller with Five Star Credit Union, retiring in 2013.  Mrs. Richter was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Brad Richter and wife Angie of Bristol, FL; a brother, Gene McCormick and wife Sandy of New Boston, TX; three sisters, Betty Folson of Tallahassee, FL, Faye Schroeder of Valiant, OK, and Pat Hartley of Wewahitchka, FL.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Nick Mock and Bethany, Dakota Mock and Sidney Odom, and Morgan Plair and Tyler Griner; as well as her great grandchildren, Rowan and Barrett Mock, Jameson Mock, and Langston Plair and Maverick Griner.

Mrs. Richter was preceded in death by her parents, Preston Talmadge McCormick and Nellie White McCormick, as well as her husband, James Hilton "Bo" Richter.
