THELMA ROBERTS REESE

Thelma Roberts Reese, age 84, of Iron City, GA passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the graveside at Corinth Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Rescue Alliance, Inc. 2645 GA-91, Donalsonville, GA 39845.

Thelma was born in Iron City, GA on January 21, 1939, to Wilson Roberts Sr. and Dixie Lane Roberts.  She graduated from Seminole County High School in 1957 and owned and operated Three Oaks Nursery in Iron City. Thelma was known all over for her wealth of knowledge about daylilies and her ability to grow them.  She was a member of Iron City Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Tammy Reese Grimsley (Felix) of Colquitt, GA and Gregory Todd Reese (Rick Griffis) of Jacksonville, FL; her sister, Winnie Lou “Tootsie” Kirksey and Don of Bainbridge, GA; and two grandchildren, Rachel Grimsley and Josh Grimsley.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Reese was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson Roberts Sr. and Dixie Lane Roberts; her sister, Barbara Ann Moulton; and her brother, Wilson Roberts Jr. “Buddy”.  She and “Buddy” were both born on January 21^st, 3 years apart so how appropriate would it be that they would pass away on the same day, July 25^th, 8 years apart.
