Mr. Moody was born in Miller County, GA on Nov. 9, 1937, to William Hardy and Rosa Bell West Moody. After graduation from high school, Mr. Moody served his country in the United States Air Force and then worked as an insurance agent with Independent Life (now American General) for 36 years before retiring. After retiring from insurance sales, Mr. Moody began a new career as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, a position he held for 20 years, before retiring once again at the age of 80. He was an active member of the Donalsonville Church of God, having served as Sunday School teacher, clerk, council member, and a member of the choir. Being outdoors was in his blood, and he was truly an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, playing softball until he was somewhere in his late 50s to early 60s, as well as playing golf until the past couple of years. He had served and loved his country. Mr. Moody was a family man and dearly loved his family, as well as his church family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 68 years, Monteen Moody of Donalsonville, GA; his daughters, Tondra Rich and her husband Ralph and Renea Pierce and her husband Walt, both of Donalsonville, GA; and his son, James Moody and his wife Mechelle of Dothan, AL; and his siblings, Dallas Moody of Lynn Haven, FL, Patricia M. Hodge and her husband Van of Tifton, GA, Jim Moody of Wallace, NC, and Linda Britton and her husband Paul of Atlanta, GA. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tyler Rich and his wife Roxanne of Lynn Haven, FL, Will Moody, Wes Moody, and Walt Moody all of Dothan, AL; and his great grandchildren, Ellis Rich and Jensen Rich both of Lynn Haven, FL.

Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his parents, William Hardy and Rosa Bell West Moody; as well as four siblings, J.T. Moody, Margaret Ann Hall, Ed Moody, and Rosa Nell Moody Wacaser.
